Laser cutting

Laser cutting for sheet metal and tubes, preparing components for the next stage of your project.

PROCESS & DOCUMENTATION

Laser cutting for sheet metal and tubes

A well-defined cutting operation is the starting point for a component. FORTZA STEEL lists two complementary machines: Bystronic Bystar 4020 for sheet metal and Adige Lasertubi LT651 for tubes and hollow sections. Process selection starts with geometry, material and manufacturing documentation.

01

Sheet-metal cutting on the Bystronic Bystar 4020

The company catalogue lists a 4,000 × 2,000 mm format and thickness up to 10 mm. These values inform the technical discussion; they are not identical limits for every material and geometry. Quotation review considers the contour, openings, quantity and any later operations. Laser power and generation are not published, so performance from other Bystronic models is not assigned to this machine.

02

Cutting tubes and hollow sections

The Adige Lasertubi LT651 is listed for round, square, rectangular, oval and elliptical sections. Published parameters are Ø120 mm, loading up to 6,500 mm and unloading up to 3,000 mm. Specify the section shape, external dimensions, wall thickness, component length and opening positions. The published configuration is not substituted with specifications from a newer Lasertube.

03

From drawing to the processing sequence

State at the outset whether the cut component will later be bent, punched, welded or finished. These requirements help define the processing sequence and clarify open points before quotation. Documentation should identify the drawing revision, units and features important to assembly; tolerances are confirmed in writing for the specific project.

05 / FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Details that matter before quotation.

How does sheet laser cutting differ from tube cutting?

Sheet and hollow sections have different geometry and handling requirements. The catalogue lists Bystronic Bystar 4020 for sheet and Adige LT651 for tubes; the team identifies the appropriate machine.

Can material and thickness be confirmed before ordering?

The inquiry is reviewed against material grade, geometry and documentation. Catalogue values guide process selection and do not replace project confirmation.

Can I send a 3D model?

The form accepts STEP and STP alongside PDF, DXF and DWG. Include a dimensioned drawing where tolerances, finish or revision requirements need to be specified.
